Saving is always a good thing; whether it’s time, money or that last piece of cake, it’s never a bad idea to save.
Here are 3 great water conservation tips to consider:
1. Check for leaks in pipes, hoses, faucets and couplings
Leaks outside the house may not seem as bad since they’re not as visible.
But they can be just as wasteful as leaks indoors.
Make sure to check your lawn for puddles that are constantly there.
Use hose washers at spigots and hose connections to eliminate some leaks.
Check your pipes, hoses, faucets and couplings for dripping when they are not in use.
2. Insulate your water pipes
It’s easy and inexpensive to insulate your water pipes with pre-slit foam pipe insulation.
You’ll get hot water faster plus avoid wasting water while it heats up.
3. Use your water meter to check for hidden water leaks
Read the house water meter before and after a two-hour period when no water is being used.
If the water meter does not read exactly the same, there is a leak.
When you do your part to use water more efficiently, the better off your plumbing system will be.
